I had some reservations when I was thinking of deciding to buy the Canon A1100 Powershot. Allow me to clarify. I am what you might consider "old-school." I grew up hearing to retro music: Al Greene, The Doobie Brothers, The Eagles, and the like. My snapshots came from film rolls, so it appeared a little scary for all of my pictures to come from a plastic chip. I went for it anyhow, and I really must say I'm really very pleased with my Canon.
My Canon A1100 Powershot is super easy to use - even if you've never handled a digital camera. This thing shoots photographs straight out of the container; and the automatic picture setting (along with not less than 9 more settings) has made it that much more easy. If you're new to digital photography, start off with the camera's Easy mode -- it makes all the selections for you. After you're at ease taking photos you can start playing with the other settings.
All of my photos so far have been absolutely incredible, thanks to the auto-mode. Even after enlarging the photographs up to 8 x 10, the pictures are still just as sharp as cut glass. The software that is provided with the Canon Powershot A1100 is easy to use, as well. It takes note of the shots that are already downloaded to your PC and won't upload duplicate images.
At first glance, the switches appeared a little daunting. After I actually looked at the control keys and their labels, though, I realized they weren't complicated at all. If I did get lost, there is a user guide that is fairly easy to look at. Because of the Canon A1100 Powershot, old-school meets with new-school. 21st century, here I am.
